Who we are

H.I.M. (Hi, It's Me) is a friendship-first messaging app for gay men. It is operated by Haaris Shariff. If you have questions about this policy, email support@hiitsme.app.

What we collect

  • Account info — the screenname you choose. An email address only if you add one for password reset; it is not required.
  • Messages — your DMs and room messages are stored to deliver them to recipients.
  • Device tokens — push notification tokens used to deliver alerts to your device.
  • Usage data — when you joined rooms, last active timestamps.
  • Reports & blocks — if you report or block another user, we store that action.

What we don't collect

We don't collect your real name, location, phone number, or payment information. H.I.M. is free.

How we use your data

  • To operate the messaging service and deliver your messages.
  • To send push notifications you've opted into.
  • To enforce community safety through our block/report system and content moderation.
  • To let you reset your password if you've added an email address.

Who we share data with

  • Supabase (supabase.com) — database and authentication infrastructure. Data is stored in the US.
  • Apple APNs / Google FCM — push notification delivery. Only your device token and notification content are transmitted.
  • Vercel (vercel.com) — web hosting. No personal data is stored by Vercel.

We do not sell your data to advertisers or third parties.

Data retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page in the app — this permanently erases your profile, messages, and all associated data.

Your rights

You can update your email or password from the Account page in the app. You can delete your account entirely — this action is irreversible. To request a data export or ask questions, email support@hiitsme.app.

Children

H.I.M. is not intended for users under 18. If you are under 18, do not use the app.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if our practices change. Continued use of H.I.M. after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
