back to H.I.M.

H.I.M. started with a simple observation: many of the tools that once made online interaction feel personal have been replaced by products optimized for speed and surface-level engagement.

I wanted to build something that felt more human.

I'm Haaris, and H.I.M. is my attempt to create a social app that gives more weight to personality, conversation, and community than the current category typically allows.

Most social apps in this space are built around the same assumptions. Photos first. Proximity first. Quick decisions.

That works for some things, but it leaves very little room for friendship.

Some apps are hookup-first by design. Some are still dating-adjacent. Others are broader platforms that don't feel built for community in a focused way.

H.I.M. is meant to solve for that gap.

It brings back what made AIM feel personal and social: screennames, away messages, buddy lists, and chat rooms.

Not just for nostalgia, but because those mechanics made more room for identity, regular interaction, and actual community.

H.I.M. is not a dating app in disguise. It is not another hookup app with softer branding. It is a real social product in its own right — a community-first space for LGBTQ+ people to make friends and stay in touch.
